Trump's 100-Days of Hell

Like being in Gordon Ramsay's Hell Kitchen

It’s only been about 100 days?

It sure felt like a year under Trump’s presidency at this point.

From the non-stop tariff drama to Elon Musk giving the Nazi salute, America has been on a roller-coaster.

So were the markets.

This week, I look at the 100-day performances of the stock market after a U.S. president has taken office.

Surprise, surprise, Trump’s second presidency ranks dead last.

Visual of the Week 📹

Not gonna lie.

I was surprised as you when I saw Old Man Biden top of the list at a healthy +10.9%.

Seems like sleeping on the job, makes the markets go BRRRR

Trump on the other hand … not so great for his second term. I guess he had his first-time luck on his first presidency.

Or that’s because he waited a while before he did his trade war 1.0 after his 100 days in 2016.

His trade war 2.0 (tariffs on the whole world) was quick and swift. And he even said so before he assumed office.

What’s even funnier is that the fortunes of his Trump Media and Technology Corp (the one that owns Truth Social) is down by almost 40%.

Not only that, his approval ratings have also dropped sharply over his first 100 days, and is the lowest compared to other presidents.

America - I hope you knew what you voted for.

Because this is just going to get worse based on the historical track record of every president.

Something to Inspire You

Can you imagine applying for 100 over jobs?

At the age of 50+.

Getting rejected left, right and centre.

And when you finally got an interview, they drop the

“Sorry, you are too old”

Even for the younger generation, more and more of us are being replaced by machines and the dreaded ‘AI’.

It won’t be long before we also get the same problems.

But Uncle Bobby here, a former garment quality assurance, said

“If no one wants me, better be my own boss”

He doesn’t know a thing about cooking. So, he went and learn from a friend of his. He tried cooking everything.

Nasi Briyani, oyster cake, char kuey teow, mee rebus, rojak, lontong, laksa

And he struggled … big time.

His friend got so fed up with teaching him that he called him a kuku for being so hard to teach.

But he persevered.

Now, he runs a laksa hawker store, supporting both him and his wife.

A lesson for all of us out there is that no matter how hopeless you think your situation is, there is always a way if you are willing to learn.

Uncle Bobby certainly proved the saying of “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” wrong on so many levels.

Keep learning, champ!

Hope the above is fruitful for you all!

Cheers,
James Yeo
